Model history

Scooter began with a request for a 7¼ inch gauge auto trolley for the Pell Wall Agricultural Tramway, carrying a driver, garden produce and passengers.

The design combined battery power, a handbrake and a compact driving arrangement for a railway with tight curves.

Phoenix subsequently offered Scooter as part of its range before discontinuing it. The photographs preserve its place in the company’s ride on vehicle history.

From the original Phoenix catalogue

The Scooter was developed from a commission for an agricultural garden railway. Phoenix identified the Pell Wall Agricultural Tramway prototype and emphasised low-speed running, simple maintenance and a handbrake.
