Phoenix’s Vale of Ffestiniog in 5 inch and 7¼ inch gauges.
Phoenix produced Vale of Ffestiniog in both 5 inch and 7¼ inch gauge. The model represented the Ffestiniog Railway’s rebuilt Funkey diesel, with the original catalogue acknowledging access to designer Steve Coulson’s CAD material.
The blue 5 inch prototype appeared at Derby in September 2014 and Leyland the following month. The larger green model is represented by finished locomotive and construction photographs.
The 2019 catalogue describes the substantial 7¼ inch Vale of Ffestiniog model as approximately eight feet long and 500 lb, and credits the original full-size locomotive's designer Steve Coulson with access to CAD material.
This is an archived design description, not a current MRW specification or availability statement.
