The 7¼ inch gauge Class 42 Warship was developed and marketed during the Express Locos years, before continuing in the Phoenix range.
The original Phoenix catalogue records access to a full size locomotive during the model’s development. The resulting design reproduced the Warship’s characteristic body shape and detailing.
The photographs show examples from the company archive and MRW collection. Current product information is available through the MRW link below.
The original Class 42 Warship catalogue notes a survey of a full-size locomotive, etched nickel detailing and short-wheelbase powered bogies. It described a 2 hp 7¼ inch passenger-hauling model.
