Trams / Phoenix collection
Y6 Tram
A tramway character of its own.
Model history
The Phoenix Y6 Tram represented the enclosed locomotives associated with the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway, with timber tramway bodywork.
Keith McDonald’s account records versions in both 5 inch and 7¼ inch gauge. The gallery shows finished examples and the body and chassis during construction.
MRW’s current link is for the 7¼ inch gauge Y6. Follow that page for the latest product information.
From the original Phoenix catalogue
Phoenix described a welded steel chassis, birch plywood body panels, rolled roof and chain drive to both axles. The contemporary Y6 specification listed a 1 hp, 24 V motor and digital controls.
This is an archived design description, not a current MRW specification or availability statement.
